XL Digital Imaging’s Big Vision

The turn of the millennium was a momentous time. Just as the world was about to enter a new era, so was grand format digital printing. XL Digital Imaging, LLC opened its doors in 2002 with big plans for the future, and even bigger plans for delivering superior quality, high-performance products such as building wraps and billboards. Now, here we are entering our second decade. We’ve nearly tripled in size and our client base has expanded even beyond our expectations. We’ve accomplished more for clients than our original plan. And the future? Well… it’s looking pretty grand.

2002

Two guys had one big idea, and groundbreaking plans were made to turn their vision into reality. They identified a gap in the large format printing market and established XL Digital to fill it. Combining technical expertise with customer-focused service, they invested in cutting-edge printing technology and assembled a skilled team.

2003

The doors opened with a team of 10 employees and two 16-foot machines. The company’s primary focus was on producing outdoor billboards and banners. As projects rolled in, the team quickly established a reputation for quality and reliability in the large format printing industry.

2005

By 2005, the company had grown to 25 employees, adding two more 16-foot machines to their operations. With improved capabilities, they boosted customer satisfaction and confidence. They also introduced expansive POP (Point of Purchase) capabilities and rapidly expanded into the exhibit and tradeshow markets.

2006

The company received recognition as a “Top Shop” by Wide-Format Imaging magazine and was named to the prestigious “Dallas 100™” by the SMU Cox School of Business and the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship. These honors validated XL Digital’s exceptional growth trajectory and contributions to the regional economy.

2012

For the second consecutive year, the company was awarded “Top Shop” by Wide-Format Imaging magazine. That same year, Raj Persad became the 100% owner by buying out his partner and focusing entirely on quality growth. A 10-foot flatbed printer with router was installed, expanding capabilities for exhibit and indoor applications. The company also introduced eco-friendly materials and inks.

2017

The company upgraded its grand format equipment to deliver on its promise of the highest quality results, including the addition of a 5-meter GS 5000R printer. Facility and equipment upgrades continued with the purchase of a new Matan high-speed printing machine, enhancing efficiency and output.

2018–2019

A new marketing initiative was launched to expand the company’s business. They also introduced the Vutek H5 Flatbed Printer, a cutting-edge machine featuring environmentally friendly LED curing technology and high-resolution capabilities of up to 1200 dpi, further cementing their commitment to environmental sustainability.

2021

Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, XL Digital demonstrated its commitment to employees by navigating the period without a single layoff. The company also embarked on significant growth, implementing climate control solutions in both the warehouse and fabrication areas of their 30,000 square foot facility.

2023

2023 was a milestone year for the company. They acquired a 120″ x 120″ Colex Sharpcut routing machine and the Vutek FabriVu 340i+ printer, elevating their capabilities. Eight new team members were added to the workforce. Additionally, they began unveiling a new marketing initiative to continue their growth.
